Tarumanagara Mental-Wellness Support (TMS) Participates in Untar Fest 2026, Introducing a Peer Support Platform for Students

To celebrate the 67th anniversary of Tarumanagara University (UNTAR), Untar Fest 2026 will be held October 12–16, 2026, as a platform for various campus units to introduce their programs and activities to the academic community. One of these is the Tarumanagara Mental-Wellness Support (TMS), which operates under the Tarumanagara Psychology Center (TPC). TMS provides a platform for students to receive support through peer counselors. This program is open to students from various faculties at UNTAR, so support is not limited to students in the Faculty of Psychology.

TMS’s participation in Untar Fest aims to introduce this program to more students, particularly as a resource they can turn to when they need someone to talk to. To achieve this goal, TMS set up an interactive booth that students could visit throughout the event. Through the activities provided, TMS sought to introduce peer support in an engaging way.

Throughout the five-day event, TMS featured a variety of different activities each day. These activities included folding origami, writing quotes, listening to affirmations through headphones, engaging in self-reflection through the “Philosophy of Glass” activity, and writing a letter to oneself. Through these activities, visitors were encouraged to express their feelings, get to know themselves better, and take time for simple self-reflection.

One of the activities featured on the final day was writing a letter to oneself. In this activity, visitors were asked to write a letter addressed to themselves, then place it in a small envelope that they could decorate using the markers provided. Once finished, the envelopes were affixed to a designated board without revealing their contents. Through this activity, visitors were able to reflect on themselves and offer positive affirmations to themselves in written form.

In addition to the main activities, which changed daily, TMS also featured an emoticon-sticking activity that ran throughout the five-day event. Visitors were invited to choose an emoticon that represented their feelings for that day and stick it onto a heart-shaped card provided on-site. This activity took place before visitors participated in the main activities, making it a consistent part of the visitor experience at the TMS booth.

Visitors’ enthusiasm was evident in their participation in the series of activities at the TMS booth. Some visitors showed their interest by collecting stamps for participating in activities held over several consecutive days. Visitors who collected stamps for three and five days had the chance to win prizes, such as keychains.

Through its participation in Untar Fest 2026, TMS aims to become better known among all UNTAR students as a safe space to share stories and receive support. In this way, students will come to realize that they have a place where they can speak openly without fear of judgment and that they do not have to face every problem alone.
