Jakarta, August 2026 — The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Tarumanagara (UNTAR) continues to strengthen its international academic network through a meeting with Dr. Vasim Tamboli from Urgench Innovation University, Uzbekistan. The meeting, held on 6 August 2026, provided an opportunity to explore future academic cooperation and discuss steps toward establishing a formal partnership between the institutions.
The discussion was attended by faculty members of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Tarumanagara, including Dr. Fransisca I. R. Dewi, M.Si.; Dr. Yohanes Budiarto, M.Si.; Dr. Agoes Dariyo, M.Si., Psikolog; Debora Basaria, M.Psi., Psikolog; Sandy Kartasasmita, M.Psi., Psikolog; Agustina, M.Psi., Psikolog; Rachel Virenna, S.Psi., M.Psi. (Cand.); and Dr. P. Tommy Y. S. Suyasa, Psikolog, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Tarumanagara.
The meeting focused on opportunities to develop meaningful academic collaboration between Universitas Tarumanagara and Urgench Innovation University in Uzbekistan. The discussion also covered developing a formal institutional partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is expected to provide a foundation for future collaborative academic activities.
Beyond formal cooperation, the meeting also served as an opportunity for both parties to establish closer academic communication and identify potential areas for further collaboration. Such cooperation may subsequently be developed through academic exchanges, collaborative teaching and learning activities, research, scholarly discussions, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.
Following the meeting, UNTAR expressed commitment to maintaining communication and developing meaningful academic cooperation between the institutions. Urgench Innovation University also proposed holding a virtual follow-up meeting and confirmed plans to continue the MoU signing process.
These discussions reflect a shared commitment to move beyond an initial meeting toward a sustainable institutional relationship. For the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Tarumanagara, international partnerships are expected to create broader opportunities for students and lecturers to engage in global academic experiences, scholarly collaboration, and cross-cultural knowledge exchange.
