SENTUL, October 24–25, 2026 — The Faculty of Psychology at Tarumanagara University (F.Psi. UNTAR) held its 2026 Capacity Building & Family Gathering on Saturday and Sunday, October 24–25, 2026, in the Sentul area of West Java. The event, held at Montana Sense Villa Sentul and The Alana Hotel Sentul, served as a gathering for administrators, faculty members, support staff, and their families to strengthen communication, collaboration, and family bonds within the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology.
Guided by the spirit of “No One Left Behind,” this event was designed not merely as a group recreational activity, but also as part of the organization’s capacity-building efforts. All participants were encouraged to build closer relationships, get to know one another outside the context of their daily work, and strengthen their sense of mutual support as one big UNTAR FPsi family.
The event was attended by the families of Mrs. Sri Tiatri, Mrs. Monika, Mrs. Fransisca, Mrs. Naomi, Mrs. Debora, Mrs. Roswiyani, Mrs. Rita, Mr. Yohanes, Mr. Untung, Mrs. Dyah Pujirahayu, Ms. Philomena, Mr. Mujiharno, Mr. Dadang, Mr. Royani, Mr. Andri, Mr. Roni, Ms. Jane, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Virgie, Ms. Yohana, Ms. Raissa, Ms. Andrew, Mrs. Ninawati, Mrs. Meiske, Mrs. Niken, Mrs. Meike Kurniawati, Mrs. Denrich, Mrs. Linda, Mr. Raja, Mr. Agoes, Mr. Bonar, and Mr. Sandi.
Capacity Building in a Warm and Participatory Atmosphere
The series of activities began at 7:00 a.m. WIB with preparations and departure from Tarumanagara University’s Campus I to Montana Sense Villa Sentul. Upon arrival, participants enjoyed refreshments before beginning the main activities.
The event was hosted by Ms. Debora Basaria under the coordination and guidance of Ms. Meike Kurniawati (as Chair of the Organizing Committee) and continued with opening remarks by P. Tommy Y. S. Suyasa (as Dean of the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology). In his remarks, the Dean encouraged all participants to always be grateful that, despite various limitations and challenges in the workplace, capacity-building activities and gatherings of the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology community could still take place.
In line with the theme “No One Left Behind”The Dean also encouraged all participants to continue praying for and offering their full support to their peers who were unable to attend for various reasons, such as health issues, being in the midst of completing their studies, or other obstacles. May Mr. Monty, Ms. Ros, Ms. Lita, Ms. Pamela, Ms. Widya, Ms. Rahmah, Ms. Kiky, Ms. Bianca, Ms. Meylisa, Ms. Hanna, Mr. Daniel, Mr. Willy, Mr. Rama, Mr. Reza, Mr. Nicktow, Mr. Yahya, and all faculty and staff members of the Department of Psychology at UNTAR who were unable to attend remain in good health, progress smoothly in their academic pursuits, and be blessed with the very best. This message serves as a reminder that togetherness is not only defined by physical presence but also through care, prayer, and concern for one another.
At the end of his remarks, the Dean reminded everyone that, as one big family within the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology, all members must continue to foster a culture of mutual support. This support is not only intended for fellow faculty members and staff but also for students, both in academic and non-academic aspects. It is this spirit of mutual encouragement that is expected to serve as the foundation for creating a faculty environment that is increasingly cohesive, caring, and focused on the common good.
The capacity-building session took place in a warm, interactive, and cheerful atmosphere. Faculty members and educational staff were divided into several groups to collaborate in a cooking competition, with each group showcasing its own dynamics, strategies, and creativity. This activity served not only as a recreational outlet but was also designed to strengthen teamwork, communication, mutual trust, role-sharing, and the team members’ ability to coordinate toward a common goal.
The cooking competition also serves as an interesting analogy for academic life at the Faculty of Psychology. Just as creating a good dish depends on more than a single ingredient or a single person, the faculty’s success is not determined by just one element, but by the ability of all its components to work together in the right balance. Faculty members, support staff, students, and administrators each play distinct yet complementary roles—just as ingredients, seasonings, techniques, and the cooking process must be harmoniously combined. At times, one person leads, another prepares the ingredients, another ensures the process goes according to plan, and yet another adds the finishing touches. With good communication, trust, and coordination, these various roles can produce the “best dish” in the form of academic services, research, community service, and meaningful learning experiences for students.
While the faculty and educational staff participated in capacity-building sessions, the series of activities was also designed to allow teenagers and children to actively engage in a spirit of togetherness. For the teenage groups, a group painting competition was held (one group for teenage boys and one for teenage girls). This activity provided an opportunity for the teenagers (the daughters of Ms. Monik, Ms. Roswiyani, Ms. Yani, Mr. Agoes, Mr. Raja, and Mr. Bonar) to communicate, discuss, divide roles, pool ideas, and express their creativity through a collaborative artwork.
Meanwhile, for the children (Misya, Mrs. Dyah Pujirahayu’s granddaughter; Alfino, Ms. Sonia’s younger brother; Qiana, Mrs. Nani’s daughter; Dini, Mr. Roni’s daughter), a bag-coloring contest was held. This activity gave the children an opportunity to express their imagination through a tangible medium. Coloring is a symbol that every child has a unique way of “adding color” to their world. Bags that originally had the same shape can be transformed into distinct works of art based on each child’s choice of colors and personal expression.
The inclusion of special activities for teenagers and children ensures that capacity building is not merely an event for adults, but truly becomes a shared space for the entire family. The spirit of “No One Left Behind” is tangibly present: every age group has the opportunity to participate, interact, and take away positive experiences from the sense of community within the extended family of the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology.
From Montana Sense to the Gathering at The Alana:
Family Is Part of a Sense of Community
After the series of activities at Montana Sense, the participants enjoyed lunch together at D’Manxiro Resto. Gifts were also distributed during the event. Some participants then returned to the UNTAR campus, while those participating in the family gathering continued on to The Alana Hotel Sentul.
One of the key aspects of the family gathering is that families can get to know one another or meet the families of colleagues from the Department of Psychology at UNTAR. The sense of togetherness at the family gathering demonstrates that relationships within the Department of Psychology at UNTAR extend beyond formal workplace interactions. Family support is an essential part of well-being in the workplace. On the other hand, the family gathering serves as an opportunity to express appreciation to the families who have consistently supported the various roles and responsibilities of faculty members and educational staff.
After check-in, participants enjoyed a welcome snack at the Sky Lounge, followed by dinner, and then attended the evening gathering. The evening event was hosted by Ms. Meiske and Mr. Untung, who created a lively atmosphere through various games, interactions, and group activities.
Various group activities and family games served as a way for participants to get to know one another better. The competitive atmosphere of the games was maintained in a spirit of sportsmanship, humor, and camaraderie. Laughter and spontaneous interactions among participants helped reinforce the main goal of the event: building positive interpersonal relationships.
“Happy October”: Celebrating a Coworker’s Birthday
A special highlight of the event series was “Happy October,” a joint celebration for members of the UNTAR Department of Psychology (F.Psi.) extended family who have birthdays in October. Six members of the UNTAR Department of Psychology (F.Psi.) extended family who received special attention on this occasion were Ms. Naomi (Oct. 5); Ms. Niken (Oct. 10); Ms. Ninawati (Oct. 12); Ms. Dyah Pujirahayu (Oct. 12); Ms. Sri Tiatri (Oct. 24); and Mr. Dadang (Oct. 24).
The simple celebration created a warm atmosphere and served as a symbol that organizational unity is built through care for individuals, including by celebrating important milestones in coworkers’ lives.
## No One Left Behind
The Capacity Building & Family Gathering event concluded with heartfelt messages from Dr. Sri Tiatri, Ph.D., Psychologist, Vice Rector of Tarumanagara University; accompanied by Mr. Untung Subroto, M.Psi., Psychologist, who served as the emcee; Dr. P. Tommy Y. S. Suyasa, Psychologist, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UNTAR; Ms. Meike Kurniawati, Chair of the Organizing Committee; and Ms. Dyah Pujirahayu, Vice Chair of the Organizing Committee. The entire series of activities then concluded with a joint prayer led by Mr. Dadang Rumardi.
The message “No One Left Behind” served as the common thread throughout the two-day event. This spirit underscores that an organization’s success depends not only on the capabilities of each individual but also on the ability of all its members to move forward together, foster open communication, support one another, and ensure that everyone feels valued and is an integral part of the journey. With this spirit, it is hoped that a sense of togetherness within the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology will continue to grow as a source of strength to tackle various challenges and achieve shared goals.
Through capacity building, participants are given the opportunity to strengthen their professional collaboration. Through family gatherings, these relationships are enriched with a sense of family. Together, these activities create an experience that strengthens participants’ sense of belonging to the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology. These events also provide an opportunity to build and renew enthusiasm as participants prepare to tackle the various initiatives and challenges that lie ahead for the faculty.
Through open communication and mutual relationships, as well as a spirit of mutual support and growth, the extended family of the UNTAR Faculty of Psychology is expected to become even more united in providing educational services, conducting research, engaging in community service, and serving all stakeholders.
The 2026 UNTAR Faculty of Psychology Capacity Building & Family Gathering will be a memorable event that stirs feelings of nostalgia for the journey, the games, and the camaraderie. This event serves as a reminder that the faculty’s progress is a shared journey. Everyone has a role to play, every contribution matters, and—No One Left Behind.
